Neotel, South Africa's first converged communications network operator, has achieved yet another milestone. On Wednesday, the 5th of February, the company's Managing Director Mr Ajay Pandey officially opened new corporate offices in Durban. The new offices are located in Hippo Park in the Riverhorse Valley. Neotel shared this proud moment with its Durban-based staff that has just moved into the new premises, customers as well as business partners. Addressing staff and the invited guests, Mr Ajay Pandey articulated the company's intention in KwaZulu/Natal. "Opening an office in Durban is a clear expression of our intention to grow Neotel's presence in the region." said Pandey. Neotel's operations in Durban continue to grow. The corporate office in Durban is now home to 16 Neotellers with diverse expertise including network implementation, operations as well as sales. Neotel already has 22 Enterprise customers in the region. The company has 530 km of fibre on the ground with additional 300km planned for 2008. Plans are underway to build an additional 245 km of fibre for the dual access to the Seacom landing site in Mtunzini, near Richards Bay. Neotel has recently been awarded a contract to provide connectivity
to 44 of the 47 Further Education and Training colleges in
KwaZulu/Natal.
